The number two holds a couple meanings in today’s countdown. Coming in at number two is senior Ben Hunter who won his second United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Championship this past October.
After carding a one-over-par 73 for a two-day total of 146, Hunter was tied with Bailey Matheison of Rochester College (MI) and they started a playoff for the title on the 18th hole. After a birdie attempt from Matheison lipped out, Hunter had his birdie attempt from four-feet and sunk it for his second USCAA National Championship.
Hunter’s efforts on that October day helped the Builders come in sixth place in the 19-team event. He had won his first national crown as a freshman and finished his senior year with number two.
On Friday, we will announce the top moment from the 2013-14 Apprentice School Athletic Year.
