Top 10 Moments - #3 - Hilliard's Halfcourt Heave Leads Lady Builders ... To ESPN

Coming in at #3 on the 2013-14 Apprentice School Top 10 Moments countdown is a dramatic win for the Lady Builders in early February that landed them in rare air.

On February 1, the Lady Builders traveled to Winston-Salem, N.C. to face the Spirits of Salem College.  The hosts entered the game on a 16-game winning streak, while The Apprentice School had won four games in a row.

A back-and-forth affair saw a jumper from Salem’s LaSashia Connelly with 2.5 seconds left gave the hosts a 66-64 lead.   Courtney Collins inbounded the ball to Shanae Hilliard who took a couple dribbles and let fly a half-court shot that banked in at the buzzer for a 67-66 Apprentice School win.

That night, the Lady Builders landed on ESPN Top 10 Plays at #2 on the 11pm Sports Center.  It’s the first time The Apprentice School has been on ESPN.

Stay tuned on Monday for the #2 moment of the 2013-14 athletic year.
