Dehoux hits for the cycle as Builders sweep home USCAA doubleheader


HAMPTON, VA. -- Sophomore Jonathan Dehoux had a day to remember for the Apprentice School as they swept a USCAA doubleheader at War Memorial Stadium on Saturday afternoon.  He went 7-for-8 and drove in eight runs in the par of Apprentice School victories.

In an 8-3 win over Spalding University in game one, he drove in six runs hitting for the cycle and included a three-run home run in the seventh that put the Builders up 5-3.  He was 4-for-5 with six RBIs and closed out the game by forcing a fly ball in the top of the ninth to seal the win.  Junior Bryce Beale was 3-for-5 as well as freshman Michael Opauski earned his first collegiate victory throwing 8.2 innings.

Against Penn State-Greater Allegheny in the nightcap, Dehoux went 3-for-3 scoring three runs and hitting a two-run home run in a 12-0 victory.  Senior Alan Riley was 4-for-5 with three RBIs and freshman Dory Fields was 2-for-5 also driving in three.  Sophomore Aaron Penny earned his first win of the year throwing seven innings of shutout ball.

The Builders will close out the USCAA weekend facing Penn State-Greater Allegheny in a doubleheader at War Memorial Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
