ASHLAND, VA. - Homestanding Randolph-Macon College scored a pair
of runs in the second, sixth and seventh innings and held on for a
6-3 victory over the Apprentice School on Thursday afternoon
at Hugh Stephens Field.
The Apprentice School scored a run in the top of the second on a
sacrifice fly from junior Bryce Beale that scored freshman Dory
Fields who started the inning with a walk. Fields started the
sixth inning with a triple and scored on a single from senior Alan
Riley to tie the game at 2-all.
Randolph-Macon answered with a pair of runs in the sixth and
seventh to take a 6-2 advantage. The Builders scored their
last run in the eighth on a RBI single from junior Kyle Center to
score sophomore Jonathan Dehoux.
Dehoux, Center and Riley had a pair of hits each for the
Builders (20-17) while Center, Riley and Beale drove in a run
apiece.
Apprentice School will next see action on Tuesday in
Murfreesboro, NC against Division II Chowan University.
