Baseball Builders Fall 8-3 To Indiana Univ-PA
HAMPTON, VA. -- The Apprentice School baseball team lost the opening game of a four-game series to NCAA Division II Indiana University-PA 8-3 at War Memorial Stadium on Thursday afternoon.
After giving up a run in the first, the Builders answered with a pair in their half of the first without a hit. A pair of walks to J.D. Drewry and Jonathan Dehoux both scored as Ryan Wagner and Bryce Beale both reached on errors.
The Builders gave up three runs in the second and two in the fourth before scoring their final run in the fifth as a RBI groundout from Dory Fields scored Drewry who earlier singled in the inning.
Drewry, Dehoux and Kenny Eanes had two hits apiece to account for the six Apprentice School hits in the contest. Sophomore Coire Barnitz took the loss throwing 3.2 innings and giving up six runs.
These teams will tangle on Friday in a 1 pm doubleheader at War Memorial Stadium and conclude with a noon single game on Saturday.
