Builders Snap Skid With 6-5 Win Over Johnson & Wales

BOX SCORE

HAMPTON, VA. -- The Apprentice School baseball team snapped a four-game losing skid on Sunday afternoon as a Chris Baker sacrifice fly scored Ryan Wagner in the seventh inning for the game-winning RBI in a 6-5 victory over Johnson & Wales (RI).

The Wildcats jumped early on the board scoring twice in the first before Apprentice School plated five runs in the sixth.  Four of those came on a pair of two-run singles from Kyle Center and Dory Fields.

In the seventh, Wagner started with a triple and later scored as Baker lifted a one-out sacrifice fly to center field to score Wagner.

Junior Dallas Wagner earned the victory throwing 1.2 innings of scoreless relief.  Eight different Builders had a hit apiece, while Center, Fields and Baker drove in a pair of runs each.

Apprentice School now will face Castleton State in a 2 pm single game on Friday at War Memorial Stadium.
