Dallas Wagner Named USCAA Pitcher Of The Week

Junior pitcher Dallas Wagner was named on Wednesday as the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Pitcher Of The Week for the week ending March 29.  This is the second USCAA award for a baseball player this year as Jonathan Dehoux earned hitter of the week honors in February.

Wagner, a Richmond, Va. native and welder apprentice, earned two victories last week throwing a combined 14 innings and striking out 14.  On March 23 he allowed three hits in a 5-3 win over Fulton-Montgomery.  Five days later against St. Vincent he threw a three-hitter in a 3-1 Builder victory.

He currently sports an 8-2 record with a 2.53 earned run average.  Wagner has thrown 53.1 innings and has struck out 53 batters.

The Builders will hit the road for the first time this season on Friday as they travel to New York and face USCAA rival Briarcliffe College in a three-game series starting at 4 pm on Friday.
