Seniors Shine As Builders Roll 9-0 Over Rappahannock On Senior Day

HAMPTON, VA. - Senior Bryce Beale went 3-for-5 with two RBIs, while fellow seniors Kyle Center and Eric Polk had a pair of hits each as The Apprentice School defeated Rappahannock CC 9-0 on Senior Day at War Memorial Stadium on Wednesday.
Fellow senior JD Drewry scored a pair of runs for the Builders (25-13) who scored three runs in the first inning. Center started the scoring by being hit by a pitch and scored on a double from Jonathan DeHoux. Beale drove in DeHoux with a double and later scored on a sacrifice fly from Chris Baker for a 3-0 lead.
In the fourth, the Builders scored four runs as Polk singled in Kenny Eanes and Chris Baker who had singled and walked respectively. Polk scored on a single by Beale and Drewry scored the fourth run of the inning on a single by Andrew Yonta for a 7-0 advantage.
Apprentice School closed out the scoring with a pair of runs in the eighth as Center singled to centerfield scoring Polk and DeHoux drove in his second run of the game with a sacrifice fly scoring Drewry who was hit by a pitch.
Four Builder pitchers combined on a four-hit shutout as freshman Daniel Lutz picked up the win throwing the first six innings allowing two hits and striking out five. Noland Robertson, Michael Opauski and Austin Leftwich each threw an inning of scoreless relief.
The Apprentice School closes out the regular season on Saturday with a 1 pm single game against the University of Mary Washington at War Memorial Stadium.
