Dehoux Named First Team All-State College Division Baseball Team By VaSID

 

NEWPORT NEWS, VA. - Apprentice School junior firstbaseman Jonathan Dehoux was named on Tuesday to the first team All-State College Division baseball team by the Virginia Sports Information Directors Association.

His honor makes him the first player since Darrell Taylor in 2005 to be named to the first team All-State squad.

Dehoux had a season for the record books as he set school records for single season batting average (.450), runs batted in (66), tied his single season hits record (72) and drove in a school record 10 runs which tied the state small college record for RBI in a game.

The maintenance electrician apprentice from Mathews, Va. also had a school-best 23-game hitting streak during the season .  He was named to the USCAA All-American team and was a second-team Academic All-District honoree by the College Sports Information Directors Association earlier in the season.
