Apprentice School sophomore running back Sam Arnold was named
Atlantic Central Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week
for his record setting performance against Southern Virginia
University last Saturday.
Arnold, a 5-foot-6, 153-pound native of Tampa, Florida and an
electrician apprentice, ran for a school record 43 carries and a
school record 249 yards in the 45-14 victory. The 43 carries are
also an Atlantic Central Football Conference record. His 249 yards,
following a 202-yard outing against Maritime College the week
before, marked the first time in school history that a Builder
running back ran for over 200 yards in consecutive games. He is
currently third in the ACFC averaging 89.8 yards per game.
The Builders return home this week for their last ACFC game of
the season against SUNY Brockport at 1 pm.
