Apprentice School freshmen Desmond Isaac and DaMario Sampson
were named Atlantic Central Football Conference Rookie of the Week
and Special Teams Player of the Week respectively on Monday.
Isaac, from St. Stephen, SC and a sheet metal apprentice, had
nine tackles (five solo, four assisted) from his middle linebacker
spot. Sampson, from Wagener, SC and a painter/insulator
apprentice, had three tackles on special teams and a deflected punt
as Apprentice School fell 18-14 to SUNY Brockport. This is
the second award for each player this year.
The Builders close out the 2007 season with the 58th
annual Oyster Bowl game as they face Chowan College at Apprentice
Field at 1 pm on Saturday.
