Matt Edelen named ACFC Special Teams Player of the Week

Apprentice School sophomore kicker Matt Edelen was named on Monday as the Atlantic Central Football Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts in Saturday's 61-55 four overtime loss to Division II Chowan in the 58th annual Oyster Bowl.

Edelen, from Upper Marlboro, Md. and an electrician apprentice, was a perfect 7-for-7 on extra-point attempts and averaged 53 yards per kickoff in the Oyster Bowl. The 7-for-7 is a single-game record and helped him finish the season converting 31-of-34 (91.2%) of his extra-point attempts for a school record. The 31 extra-point attempts made this year was also a school single-season record.

Earning honor roll honors this week were Travis Reid (offense), Quentin Forbes (defense) and Desmond Isaac (special teams).
