Touchdown Travis
Senior Travis Reid is approaching a number of modern era
(1985-present) career records in receptions for the Builders.
His next touchdown will give him the career record that he now
shares with Andre Ross (1991-94) with 20. Ross holds the
career reception yards mark of 2,544 and Reid is 699 yards away
from breaking that record. Reid, a Goose Creek, SC native had
48 receptions for 798 yards and seven touchdowns in 2006 when he
was named first team All-ACFC.
Franklin
factors
Senior Kyle Franklin has completed 51% of his passes in his
collegiate career (147-of-288) and is coming off a junior season
where he was 106-of-184 for 1,344 yards and 12 touchdowns.
His 12 touchdown passes were the second most in the modern era only
trailing Darren Graham in 1994 who threw for 18 touchdowns.
The 106 completions was the third highest total in a single season
trailing only David Riddle in 1989 (110) and Graham in 1994 (111).
Builder Block Party
Last year the Builders special teams were truly special as they
blocked six punts returning four of them for touchdowns and one for
a safety. Senior Tony Scott had three of those blocks and
started 2007 off with another one in the scrimmage game against
Guilford College.
D-fence D-fence
The Builders defense was one of several factors in the
season-ending four-game winning streak including three by
shutout. Apprentice School topped the ACFC in total defense
last year allowing 241.7 yards per game and in scoring defense
allowing 14.3 points per game for their lowest averages in 22
years. The three shutouts were the most in a single season
since 1988. In those last four games, no opponent has rushed
for over 100 yards.
