Thomas Mason Named ACFC Rookie Of The Week

Apprentice School freshman kicker Thomas Mason was named Atlantic Central Football Conference Rookie of the Week for his performance in Saturday's 35-19 loss to NAIA 25th-ranked Malone University.

Mason, a freshman shipfitter apprentice from Disputanta, Va., had a busy afternoon for the Builders. He averaged 43 yards per punt, 55 yards per kickoff, hit both of his extra-point attempts and tied the school record with a 44 yard field goal in the game. The record was set in 1986 by Richard Mancuso against Wingate College.

The Builders hit the road again this Saturday heading to Wise, Va. to face the University of Virginia at Wise Cavaliers at 1:30 pm.
