Apprentice School's senior quarterback Phil Caralla and freshman kicker Nicholas Foor were honored by the Atlantic Central Football Conference on Monday as the Offensive Player of the Week and the Rookie of the Week respectively.
Caralla, a senior outside machinist apprentice from Tarpon Springs, Florida, accounted for 315 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-30 loss to Frostburg State. Caralla completed 19-of-30 for 284 yards and two touchdowns while running for 31 yards and a touchdown.
Foor, a freshman shipfitter apprentice fron Huntingtown, Maryland, was a perfect 3-for-3 on extra-point attempts and hit a 32-yard field goal in the game. On the year he's 4-for-6 on field goals with a long of 40 yards and has hit all six of his extra-point attempts.
The team will close out its season on Saturday in the 60th annual Oyster Bowl game against Southern Virginia University at 1 pm at Apprentice Field.
