Six Builder Athletes Named To VaSID Academic All-State Team
On Friday, the 2010-11 Virginia Sports Information Directors Association Academic All-State team was announced and the Apprentice School had six student-athletes recognized among the 30 schools and 180 athletes.

2011 Apprentice School Athlete Of The Year - Bryan Cain
After finishing a senior football season where he was among the Atlantic Central Football Conference leaders in receptions per game, yards per game and touchdowns – and won Co-Offensive Player of the Year honors, Apprentice School football wide receiver Bryan Cain capped his career by being named the 2011 Apprentice School Athlete of the Year.

15 Football Players Named To ACFC All-Academic Team
The 2010 Atlantic Central Football Conference All-Academic team was announced on Thursday with 15 players from the Apprentice School being named to the 112 person honor list. To be named you had to have a 3.0 grade point average in the fall 2010 semester.

Oldest Living Apprentice School Graduate Honored Prior To Homecoming Game
On Saturday, Sept. 25, the Apprentice School celebrated Homecoming with its football game against Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham. Prior to kickoff, the school recognized the oldest living Apprentice School graduate Russell S. Derring with a special award and an autographed football of the 2010 Builders. The award came 20 days after his 100th birthday.

Football Team Hosts Clinic For Boys & Girls Club
On Friday, August 20, the Apprentice School football team hosted a clinic for the area Boys & Girls Club at Apprentice Field. Nearly 40 kids participated in drills ran by the Builders. The campers came from the East End of Newport News, York County and Gloucester.
