NEWPORT NEWS, VA. – Apprentice School junior quarterback Paul Morgan and senior kicker Nick Foor were honored by the U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association on Tuesday being named USCAA Offensive and Special Teams Player of the Week.
Morgan, a junior electrician from Riverdale, GA., accounted for all five touchdowns in Saturday's 35-21 win over Alfred State College. He threw for two and ran for three, including both touchdowns in the fourth quarter to provide the final margin. Morgan, in his first start of the year, was 16-of-28 for 140 yards through the air and ran for 39 yards as the Builders scored their second win of the year.
Foor, a senior kicker from Huntington, MD, was a perfect 5-for-5 on extra-point attempts in the win. He is third in the USCAA in points scored by kickers (22) and ninth in overall scoring. His 19-of-20 extra-points made ranks him first in conversion percentage and his 19 made is the sixth-highest single-season total in school history. This is his second USCAA Player of the Week honor this year.
The Builders head south this weekend to Valley, Alabama to face Point University at 1 pm on October 27.
