2012-13 Top 10 Games - Football Hits 60 In Opening Win

Coming in at number seven in the 2012-13 is the football team with its first win of 2012 and its first win under coach Paul Hoffmann.

On September 8, the Builders ventured into Baltimore, Maryland to tackle the Eagles of Coppin State University in the first-ever meeting between the schools.   The hosts got on the scoreboard first recovering a fumble in the end zone for an early 7-0 lead barely five minutes into the game.

From there, the Builders erupted for three touchdowns in the final seven minutes of the first quarter and rolled to a 60-7 win.  The Builders scored on a pair of fumble recoveries, an interception return, a field goal and five rushing touchdowns en route to the most points scored in a game since they scored 61 points against SUNY Maritime in 2007.

Jodey McNeil ran for 146 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Builders held the Eagles to 196 yards and forced seven turnovers in a game that was delayed 30 minutes in the fourth quarter when a severe thunderstorm rolled through Baltimore.

Be on the lookout Monday for our next installment of the Top 10 Games in 2012-13.
