One of the busiest weekends of the athletic year starts tonight for The Apprentice School and here's where you can find information on all the contests.
The 2013-14 Apprentice School Lady Builders open their season this weekend with a pair of contests this weekend.
Tonight, the Lady Builders travel to Buena Vista, Va. to face in-state rival Southern Virginia University in a 6 pm tip-off. These teams have played 34 games heading into tonight's contest and the Lady Builders lead the all-time series 20-14. Last year Southern Virginia won both contests which snapped a three-game winning streak for the Lady Builders against the Knights.
On Sunday, first-year head coach Keith Stagg will have his home debut as the Lady Builders face Penn State Brandywine at 2 pm. The visitors, who will play at Mid-Atlantic Christian University in Elizabeth City, NC on Saturday, will be making their first visit to Apprentice Gym. Apprentice School leads the all-time series 3-1 after winning last year 55-49 in the Penn State Brandywine Holiday Classic.

The Apprentice School football team closes out the 2013 campaign on Saturday with a noon start against Ave Maria University. This is the first ever football meeting between the Builders and the Gyrenes.
Prior to kickoff we will honor the 11 football seniors who are playing in their last Apprentice School game. The Senior Day ceremony will be at approximately 11:35 am. Those 11 seniors are: Odis Wesby, Jodey McNeil, Darren Clark, Cody Peters, Marlon Lane, Izhia Roundtree, TaMichael Fedd, Brock Bullock, Levi Minney, Tim Anderson and Ivan Robinson.
Ave Maria enters with a 7-2 record and winners of their last seven games, while Apprentice School is 1-8 on the year.

MEN'S BASKETBALL (2-0)
The Builders return to action on Saturday afternoon in Murfreesboro, N.C. as they face long-time the Hawks of Chowan University for a 4 pm tip at the Jesse Helms Center.
Chowan, a NCAA Division II opponent, leads the overall series with the Builders 22-9 and are coming off a 95-45 exhibition loss on Thursday night to East Carolina University. The Hawks have beaten the Builders in 12 straight games dating back to Dec. 11, 2001.
Sophomore Jay Melendez leads the Builders in scoring (21.5 ppg) and rebounding (11.0 rpg). Five Builders are averaging in double figures as Johnnie Ferebee follows Melendez averaging 14 points, nine assists and 4.5 steals per game.
The men will return home for their 2013-14 home opener on Wednesday night at 7 pm to face Mid-Atlantic Christian University.

The wrestling team looks to continue its strong start on Saturday as they travel to West Chester, PA for a tri-match with West Chester University and the University of Delaware starting approximately 7 pm.
The Builders are coming off an impressive weekend when they went 7-0 in dual matches, including a 6-0 showing to win the Electric City Duals hosted by the University of Scranton. Junior Ian Jones is 10-0 and sophomore Phillip Porto is 10-3 to lead the team in wins through two weeks. Freshman Rob Styron had the team lead in wins by fall with six as he's 6-3 on the year.
