NOTES

Baseball 

  • Faced Virginia Wesleyan for first time since 1996 and lost 3-1.
  • The Builders had eight hits with Alan Riley and James Denny having a pair each.
  • Riley singled in the lone run in the sixth inning scoring Dory Fields with two outs.
  • Joe Tugwell took the loss throwing 7.1 innings and allowing eight hits and three runs.
  • Tabb Griffey closed the game allowing a pair of hits and one strikeout in 1.2 innings of work.
  • That was the third time this season the Builders scored one or no runs in a game.
  • Tugwell was named USCAA Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 6.  On the week he went 2-0 throwing 11 innings and striking out 11 and a shutout against Rochester College.
