NOTES
Baseball
- Jonathan Dehoux and Alan Riley were named to the USCAA All-Tournament team after the Builders finished second in the 2008 USCAA National Championships.
- Dehoux topped the team in hitting with a .471 average (8-for-17) with a pair of doubles and three home runs, while Riley was next with a .385 average (5-of-13).
- Against Lyndon State, The Builders scored a pair of runs in the fourth inning as Kenny Eanes drove in one with a fielders choice and the other scored on a double steal as Alan Riley stole home. Apprentice School added a run in the fifth as J.D.Drewry had a one-out single, advanced on a passed ball and scored on a RBI single from Kyle Center. They added a run in the seventh as James Denny singled, advanced on a sacrifice and stole third before a Center sacrifice fly gave the Builders a 4-1 lead.
- Against Robert Morris-Springfield on Tuesday, Dehoux hit his first home run to left center in the first inning to put the Builders up 1-0. In the third, his double to right-center scored Drewry putting the Builders ahead 2-0. He closed out the hitting with a two-run blast over the left field wall giving the Builders a 4-0 lead after five innings.
- In the winners bracket final against Columbia Union, Apprentice School mounted a comeback in the sixth as Drewry started with a single and scored on Dehoux's third home run of the tournament and ninth on the season. In the seventh, the Builders scored as Drewry's single to right center plated Eric Polk who started with a single. Apprentice School left the bases loaded in the seventh as Scott Elliot forced a groundout from Center to end the game.
- Drewry and Dehoux had a pair of hits each for the Builders, while Sepulveda had a pair for Columbia Union. Dehoux's leadoff single in the fourth inning gave him the school single season hits record now with 69.
- Freshman Coire Barnitz threw a five-hitter and sophomore Kenny Eanes drove in a pair of runs with a double as the Apprentice School advanced to the 2008 USCAA Championship game with a 6-2 win over Robert Morris-Springfield on Thursday.
- Apprentice School answered with a run in the bottom of the first as Alan Riley had a one-out single and eventually scored on a wild pitch.
- The Builders followed with three runs in the second as Eanes laced a one-out double to center scoring Bryce Beale and Polk to put the Builders ahead 3-2. He scored on a single by Riley two batters later.
- Apprentice School added a pair more in the third as Dory Fields started with a single and advanced to second on a throwing error. He scored as Center smashed a double to left-center for a 5-2 advantage. After advancing to third on a wild pitch, Center scored on a Beale single to right-center for a 6-2 Apprentice lead.
- In the finals, Apprentice School scratched a run in the eighth as Riley had a one-out single and advanced on a single from Dehoux before scoring on a sacrifice fly from Center.
- USCAA All-American honors went to Dehoux, Riley, Fields and Center while Dehoux and Center were honored on the All-Academic Team.
