Coming in third in the 2014-15 Apprentice School Top 10 moments countdown puts us on the diamond for the first time as an early April matchup with Virginia Wesleyan College provided late dramatics and a historic moment for Bryan Cave.
The Builders hosted the Marlins for their second matchup of the 2015 season after falling 8-4 to Virginia Wesleyan on March 31. Each team answered the other as one put up a run and the other responded in the next inning.
As the game went to the 11th inning, the Builders put their mark in history as with one out Jacob Countiss singled up the middle. Collin Wilber took a 3-1 pitch over the left-field wall for a walk-off home run and a 9-7 win.
With the win, coach Bryan Cave garnered his 600th career victory. He joined a group of 75 non-NCAA Division I coaches who have 600 or more wins.
