LYNCHBURG, VA. -- Sophomore Jason Arrington scored a season-high
26 points to lead three Apprentice School players in double figures
on Wednesday night as the Builders defeated Randolph College 61-49.
The Builders (12-9) opened the game scoring the first seven
points, four of which came on layups from junior Fred
Spratley. Randolph cut the lead to 7-5 on a 3-pointer from
Cameron Shepherd with 13:36 left in the half. That was as
close as the Wildcats got from there on.
Apprentice School put the game away with a 14-3 run over a 5:45
to take a 30-17 advantage with 1:52 left on an Eric Joe
layup. In the second half, the Builders held a double figure
lead throughout the majority of the half.
Arrington scored 17 of his game-high 26 points in the first
half. He had scored 22 points four times in the first 20
games. Joe added 13 points and Spratley chipped in 11 points
and 10 rebounds.
Apprentice School now will travel to Lincoln University on
Saturday for a 4 pm matchup with the Lions.
