Men's basketball junior Eric Ruffin is USCAA Men's Division I
Basketball player of the week for the week ending February
10. In three Apprentice School games, Ruffin averaged 21.3
points, 6.7 assists, 3.7 steals and three rebounds per contest.
He started the week scoring 24 points with five assists, four
rebounds, and four steals in a 93-85 victory over USCAA rival
Southern Virginia on February 5. Two days later, Ruffin tied
a 12-year old school record with 10 assists in a 70-69 loss to
Division II Chowan University. He tied the single-game record
held by current assistant coach Cliff Coleman and scored a
season-best 25 points in that game. In last Saturday's 80-71
victory Lincoln University, he had 15 points, five assists and four
steals.
Ruffin, a shipfitter apprentice, is averaging 14 points, 4.7
assists, 4.6 rebounds and three steals per game for the Builders
who will take on Southern Virginia University in Buena Vista on
February 19.
