N. MIAMI, FLA. - Junior Eric Ruffin scored 19 points to lead
five in double figures for the Apprentice School as they rallied
from an eight-point halftime deficit for a 76-75 U.S. Collegiate
Athletic Association victory at Johnson & Wales on Sunday.
After a sluggish first half that saw the Wildcats take an
eight-point advantage, the Builders caught fire in the second half
hitting 15-of-25 (60%) from the floor and took an eight-point
advantage midway in the second half. Apprentice School hit
enough free throws down the stretch to hold off the Wildcats for
the win.
Sophomore Antione Paige added 14 points, junior Jason Smith had
13 points and a team-high eight rebounds, sophomore Eric Joe
chipped in 11 points and six rebounds while junior Fred Spratley
had 10 points and six rebounds for the Builders (7-5).
