Women's Basketball and Men's Basketball earn 8th seeds for the USCAA National Basketball Tournament

The 2016 USCAA Basketball National Championships field was finalized earlier today during a live radio show on WHKT in Portsmouth, Virginia. For an eighth year, the tournament returns to Uniontown, located in the Laurel Highlands of western Pennsylvania. The field features 34 teams in four divisions playing 39 games from March 1st-5th. Tournament games are played on the campus of Penn State Fayette.

Women's Division I Championship

The #8 seed Lady Builders (12-10) will open the tournament against the #1 seeded Concordia College Alabama on Wednesday, March 2nd at 10:00 am.  This will be the fifth time in the last six years that the Lady Builders competed in the USCAA National Championship.  The Lady Builders last played Concordia College-Alabama last year which resulted in a 100-78 loss on the road. 

With a win, the Lady Builders would play the winner of Silver Lake College and University of Maine Fort Kent on Friday, March th at 11:00 am.  If they lose, they will play the loser of the Silver Lake and Maine Fort Kent matchup in the consolation round on Thursday, March 3rd at 9:15 a.m. 


Men's Division I Championship

The  #8 seeded Builders (12-10) will play the #1 seeded Rochester College on Wedneday, March 2nd at 2:00 pm to in the opening round of the USCAA Basketball National Championships.  The Builders last appearance in the National Championship came in 2014 as they knocked off their oppenent, Rochester College 72-63 in the first round. 

With a win the Builders will advance to play the winner of #4 Florida National and #5 Oakwood University on Thursday, March 3rd at 8:00 p.m.  If the Builders lose, they will play the loser between Florida National and Oakwood University Thursday, March 3rd at 11:15 a.m.
