VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. -- The Apprentice School golf team cut 15
strokes off its team score in day two of the Marlin Invitational at
Virginia Beach National Golf Course and ended in a tie for fourth
out of 12 teams.
The Builders tied Lynchburg College shooting a final round 324
for a two-day total of 663. Christopher Newport University
won the event shooting a 303 on Sunday for a 619 two-day total.
Senior BJ Maben finished third in the medalist race with a
four-over-par 76 on Sunday for a 153 total. He was two
strokes behind Kyle Schaffner from CNU who won medalist honors with
a 151 total, including a two-under-par 70 on Sunday.
Next up for the Builders will be their first ever visit to
California for the Cal Lutheran Kingsmen Invitational on March
16-18.
