WILLIAMSBURG, VA. - The Apprentice School "A" team finished
sixth and the "B" team finished eighth in the annual Glenn Heath
Shipbuilders Invitational held in Williamsburg on the Black Heath
Course at Fords Colony.
Randolph-Macon College held its first-round advantage and gained
a stroke on Tuesday to capture the title with a 607 total with a
305 total on Tuesday. Christopher Newport University, who
trailed by two strokes after round one, finished with a 610 total
after a 306 on Tuesday.
Apprentice School senior BJ Maben and junior Brandon Rudisill
were the low men for the Builders coming in a tie for
18th place with a 162 total. Maben snared the last
individual honor for the tournament with a lower final round score.
Adam Andrews of Pitt Community College was the medalist with a
two-day total of 147 to edge Michael Shrader of Randolph-Macon
College by a stroke. That marked the third straight year Pitt
Community College has had the medalist in this event.
On Sunday and Monday the Builders will participate in the Wesley
College Spring Invitational to close out its spring season.
