Golf Team Takes Second At Builder Spring Invitational

 

HAMPTON, VA. - The Apprentice School golf team finished second in its Builder Spring Invitational with a season-low round of 300 on Friday at The Woodlands.  Columbus State (Oh.) Community College was the winner with a 299 in the four-team event.

Ross O'Neal of CSCC was the medalist in the event with a one-under-par 68, followed by Apprentice School senior Steven Ness with a three-over-par-72.  Sophomore Daniel Campbell was in a tie for third with a 74, while sophomore Nick Carlson was next in a tie for fifth with a six-over-par-75.

The Builders had five players finish in the top nine in the event as freshman Kyle Radcliff and sophomore Ryan Sweet were in a tie for ninth with 79.  CSCC edged the Builders out on the final hole as they were a combined three-over-par on the 18th hole, while the Builders were four-over-par.

Next up for the golf team will be the Glenn Heath Memorial Shipbuilders Invitational on April 6-7 in Williamsburg at Fords Colony.
