Hunter Sits Tied For Eighth After Round One Of PGA Minority Collegiate Championship

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL. – Apprentice School senior golfer Ben Hunter rebounded after a tough first nine holes on Friday to finish with a seven-over-par 79 and is tied for eighth after round one of the PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship.

Playing the Wanamaker Course at the PGA Golf Club, Hunter started on the back nine on Friday and had a couple errant shots and made the turn at 43.  On his second nine, he found his groove and came in at even-par 36 to sit eighth out of 37 in the Men's Individual Invitational Division.

Out of a field of mainly NCAA Division I and II golfers, Dominique Worthen of NCAA Division II LeMoyne Owen College leads the field with even-par 72. 

Hunter will start round two of the event on Saturday morning at 8:45 am.
