Golf takes 12th place at VSGA Championships

FINAL SCORE: 640/12th place

IN BRIEF: The Builders shaved 16 strokes off their opening round, shooting a 312 to take 12th place with a 640 total.


  • Sophomores Perry Barber and Phillip Nelson tied for 24th with a nine-over-par 149 total. Barber shot a 72 in the final round while Nelson shot a 74.
  • At 54th place, Sophomore Toby Tapman shaved off nine strokes from his opening round. Tapman finished with a 77 for a combined 23-over-par 163 total.
  • With an 89 on the final day, Sophomore Will Hunter took 57th place with a 39-over-par 179 total.
  • Right behind Hunter was Sophomore Tim Moore, who shot a 99 for a 49-over-par 189 total.


The Builders will compete in the USCAA National Championships on October 12-13, which be held at the Penn. State Blue Course in State College, Pennsylvania.
