PEMBROKE, NC - The Apprentice School women's basketball team
lost its third straight game on Sunday falling 64-47 at Division II
UNC Pembroke.
A Tyisha Battle jumper gave the Lady Builders their biggest lead
of the game at 7-2 with 16:14 remaining. The host Braves then
went on a 17-2 run over the next 7:15 for a 19-9 advantage on an
Ivy Ramsey 3-pointer with 8:59 remaining.
In the second half, the Lady Builders cut what was a 23-point
deficit with 13:56 left to 53-47 on a Rahshann Lewter 3-pointer
with 3:56 left. Unfortunately, that turned into the last
points scored as UNCP closed the game scoring the last 11 points.
Natasha Jones was the leading scorer for Apprentice School with
12 points, while Tyechia Cooke added 11.
The Lady Builders now travel to Norwich University in Vermont
for a tournament starting on Friday night when they face the hosts
at 6 pm.
