Lady Builders See Season End With 63-56 Loss To Robert Morris Springfield
UNIONTOWN, PA. - The Apprentice School rallied from an 18-point deficit in the second half to get within three points, but couldn't get closer as they lost to Robert Morris-Springfield 63-56 in the USCAA Nationals at Penn State Fayette.
Senior Rahshann Lewter recorded the first postseason triple-double in Apprentice School history with 12 points, 10 assists and 12 rebounds to lead the Lady Builders, while Shameka Warren and Tyisha Battle added 11 points each.
Robert Morris used a 17-4 run in the first half to jump out to a 35-18 lead on a LaToya Gipson stickback with 4:43 left. In the second half they opened with a 10-3 run to take a 47-29 lead on a free throw by Gipson with 13:53 left. The Lady Builders caught fire on a 16-1 run chopping it down to 48-45 on a Hamilton free throw with 7:01 left. That was as close as the Lady Builders got as the Eagles hit 5-of-6 foul shots in the last 31 seconds to ice the win.
