Lady Builders Snap Four-Game Skid With 88-45 Win Over N.C. Wesleyan

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - Starting the game with a 19-0 run, the Apprentice School Lady Builders never looked back as they snapped a four-game losing skid with an 88-45 victory at N.C. Wesleyan College on Sunday afternoon.

Apprentice School held NCWC without a point for the first 5:29 before a pair of Nicole Williams' free throws made the score 19-2 with 14:31 left.  The Lady Builders held the lead in the 19-23 point range throughout the half and took a 46-23 lead into the locker room as Williams hit a jumper with 45 seconds left in the first half.

The second half saw the Lady Builders connect on 14-of-26 shots from the floor (53.8%) and hold NCWC to 8-of-23 from the floor (34.8%).  Apprentice School used a 15-2 run over a 6:27 span to take an 81-39 lead on a pair of Denise Hamilton free throws with 3:43 left.

Junior Tyisha Battle scored 24 pounts and hauled in 10 rebounds to lead the Lady Builders.  Freshman Valerie Creecy added 14 points and seven boards, while Hamilton chipped in 12 points, four rebounds, four assists and four steals.

The Apprentice School now travels to New York next weekend starting with a first-ever meeting with the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Dec. 12 at 2 pm in Kings Point, N.Y.
