The Apprentice School Lady Builders start a two-game in three-day spell by traveling to Elizabeth City, NC tonight to face the NCAA Division II Lady Vikings of Elizabeth City State University at 5:30 pm.
This marks the third meeting all-time between the teams with each winning on their own home floor. The Lady Builders defeated ECSU 66-63 in Newport News on Nov. 26, 2002, while the Lady Vikings won 74-58 on Dec. 19, 2007 at the RL Vaughan Center on the Elizabeth City State campus.
This is the second of three games for the Lady Builders against members of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association as they lost to Virginia Union University 101-48 on Nov. 26 at home.
Apprentice School enters with a 3-3 record after defeating Barber-Scotia College 74-67 on December 5. Junior Kenya Wilkerson leads the team in scoring (15.3 ppg), assists (4.3 apg), steals (3.5 per game), third in field goal percentage (.453) and fourth in rebounds (4.5 rpg). Senior Shanae Hilliard is next in scoring at 12.7 ppg and leads the team with 20 3-pointers made. Her next 3-pointer will give her the mark for most 3-pointers in a career as she's tied with Taffey Thomas for the lead now with 124.
Elizabeth City State is 3-4 on the year after holding off Barton College 64-62 on Tuesday night. Jadda Jefferies leads the team in scoring at 20.7 points per game and in steals at 3.4 per contest. Jasmine Nixon is second on the team in scoring at 10.4 points per game and leads in rebounding at 8.7 per contest as well as field goal percentage at 55%. As a team, they're averaging 61 points per game.

On Saturday, the Lady Builders will close out their 2014 home schedule when they face NCAA Division III Eastern Mennonite University at 2 pm. This will be the first-ever meeting between the Lady Builders and the Royals.
Eastern Mennonite, who earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament last year, is currently 6-1 and has won its last six games. Jess Rheinheimer leads the team in scoring at 17.1 points per game and in rebounds at 7.1 per game. Joining her in double figures is Shakeerah Sykes at 12.4 points and almost six rebounds per game and Maria Zumfelde at 11 points per game and she leads in 3-point percentage hitting 51.2% from behind the arc.
As a team, EMU is averaging over 79 points per game, hitting 47.2% from the floor, 41.7% from 3-point range and almost 71% from the foul line.
