Builders split two dual matches in Lexington

LEXINGTON, VA. - The Apprentice School wrestling team closed out its dual-match portion of the schedule by splitting a pair of matches at Washington & Lee University on Saturday. They lost to the host Generals 21-15 then blasted Southern Virginia University 48-4.

Against the Generals, the Builders lost the opening two matches to fall behind 6-0. The Builders won the next three matches, one by a Micah Amrozowicz major decision and a pair of decisions from freshmen Jeremiah Jones and Matt Perry before W&L scored the next three victories with two of those by forfeit. Apprentice School (10-7) took the last two bouts by decision for the 21-15 loss to Washington & Lee.

In the second match of the day with Southern Virginia, the Builders were the beneficiary of five forfeits. Amrozowicz, Charles Owusu and Jimmy Campbell scored wins by pin to lead to the 48-4 victory.

The Builders will now be off until February 24 for the NCWA Mid Atlantic Conference Championships at Maryville, Tennessee.
