NEWPORT NEWS, VA. - Seniors Justin Gilliard and Eric Lybarger
recorded the lone Apprentice School victories on Friday night as
the Builders lost 40-9 to Campbell University.
Gilliard, a Virginia Beach native, recorded a reversal early in
the third period to break a 1-all tie en route to his 5-2 victory
over Chris Mazzatta. The shipfitter apprentice now sports a
25-15 record.
Lybarger, a native of Mooresville, Ind., earned his ninth win by
pin this year defeating Jeff Cote in 1:33. The electrician
apprentice now has a 25-11 record on the season.
Apprentice School (7-9) now is off until Feb. 13 when they
travel to Pembroke, N.C. to face UNC Pembroke.
