Cecil Lee named American College Division Outstanding Wrestler At Va. Duals
Senior Cecil Lee, coming off a career wins record-tying performance on Friday, was named the Outstanding Wrestler in the American College Division of the 2009 Virginia Duals late Saturday night.
Lee, from Portsmouth, tied the school career victories record with
his 100th in the 24-20 victory over NCAA Division I Wagner College
in the consolation round Friday. His 8-0 major decision was
the deciding point as the Builders defeated a NCAA Division I
opponent in the Virginia Duals for the fourth straight year and
fifth in a row.
He joins assistant coach Micah Amrozowicz as the only Apprentice School wrestlers to be named the Outstanding Wrestler in the American College Division. Lee, whose career record is 100-51, is now 22-6 on the season. Amrozowicz earned his award in 2007 when the Builders finished second.
The wrestling team will see action again on January 24 when they host the 29th annual Builder Invitational at Apprentice Gym starting at 9 am.
