BUIES CREEK, NC - The Apprentice School closed out its dual
match schedule on Tuesday night by falling 39-9 to NCAA Division I
Campbell University in Buies Creek, N.C.
Freshman Will Harcum scored the first points on the night for
the Builders by recording his 13th victory by fall this
year winning in 1:59 at 165 pounds to bring the score to 24-6.
Harcum, a Williamsburg native, now has a record of 26-15
which is the second most wins on the team heading into the
conference tournament on Feb. 28.
Senior Cecil Lee continued his stellar season by closing the
match with a 5-1 win at heavyweight. The senior from
Portsmouth now sports a team-best 38-9 record and has 116 wins for
his career.
Next up for the Builders will be the National Collegiate
Wrestling Association Mid Atlantic Conference Championship on Feb.
28 at Southern Virginia University. The Builders closed
out their dual match schedule with an 11-9 record, tying the
second most wins in a season in the last 10 years.
