Builders Third After Round One Of 2009 NCWA Nationals

HAMPTON, VA. - The Apprentice School wrestling team currently sits in third place out of 84 teams competing at the 2009 National Collegiate Wrestling Association National Championships at the Hampton University Convocation Center.

The Builders scored 16.5 points in the first round to trail only Grand Valley State University (18.5) and first round leader Marion Military Institute (Ala.) with 24.5.

Nine Builder wrestlers won their opening round matchups with five of those coming by fall.  Freshmen Marcus Chevres (133 lbs), Will Sexton (133 lbs), senior Cecil Lee (285), sophomore Will Harcum (165) and freshman Anthony Damico (157) all won their opening matches by pin.  For Lee, his win in 3:46 over Shawn Yuncker of Mott Community College was his 50^th by fall.
