HAMPTON, VA. -- After session four of the 2009 NCWA National Championships at Hampton University, the Apprentice School holds a half-point advantage over Grand Valley State 67-66.5 heading into the 8 pm consolation round on Friday night.

Winners in this upcoming consolation round will join three Builders who advanced to the semifinals as 2009 NCWA All-Americans.  Freshman Will Sexton (133 lbs.), junior Matt Perry (149 lbs.), sophomore Will Harcum (165 lbs.) senior Ty Holley (141 lbs.) and freshman Ricky Anderson (157 lbs.) are a win away from joining freshman Marcus Chevres (133 lbs.), freshman Charles Mills (174 lbs.) and senior Cecil Lee (285 lbs.) on the All-American stand.

Freshman Marcus Chevres recorded his ninth victory by fall this season scoring a pin with 17 seconds left in the match over Nathan Jones of Southern Indiana.  He will face Joey Heersche of Kansas State in Saturday's 9 am semifinals.  Chevres, a freshman outside machinist from Norfolk, now has a 24-16 record heading into his 133 pound semifinal.

Fellow freshman Charles Mills earned his 16th win by fall and second in the tournament with a win over Ahsha Abu-Ali of Kansas State in 4:17.  Mills, a freshman welder apprentice from Republic, Washington, sports a 27-12 record heading into his semifinal match against Richard Doherty of Grand Valley State Saturday morning in a 174 pound semifinal.

Senior Cecil Lee advanced with a medical forfeit over Nicholas Miller of Toledo in his quarterfinal matchup.  That win makes Lee the Builders' first four-time NCWA All-American as he now advances to the semifinals where he'll face Chris DeSanctis of the University of Pittsburgh.  Lee, a senior from Portsmouth, now sports a 44-9 record.
