FT. LAUDERDALE, FLA. - Two Apprentice School wrestlers placed in
the top six on Monday as the Builders competed in the Citrus Open
at Cardinal Gibbons High School.
Senior Cecil Lee continued his strong season by taking third at
heavyweight finishing with a 5-1 record. That raised his
record this year to 19-4 and the Portsmouth native is now tied for
second in the modern era in career wins with 97. A 3-0 day on
Tuesday will tie the school career wins mark at 100.
Sophomore Will Harcum took fifth at 165 with a 3-2 record on the
day and a pair of wins by fall. The Williamsburg native is
sporting the second most wins on the team now with a 17-7 record.
On Tuesday the event will conclude with three dual
matches. The Builders open at 11:30 am against Centennial
Conference power Ursinus College. At 1 pm they'll take on
Simpson College from Iowa and then they'll close out at 3:30 pm
against Washington & Jefferson College.
