WAYNESBURG, PA. -- The host Waynesburg Yellow Jackets earned
victories in six of the first seven weight classes as they snapped
the Builders' five-match win streak with a 29-16 victory on Friday
night.
Following a win by pin and a major decision in the first two
bouts, senior Will Harcum recorded a pin at 174 pounds to cut the
deficit to 10-6. Harcum's win was his 20th in 23 matches this
season making him the fastest to 20 wins in the modern era of
Apprentice School wrestling.
That spurred on the hosts as they won the next four bouts,
picking up bonus points in two of those to take a 25-6 lead heading
into 133 pound match. Sophomore Marcus Chevres earned a 12-0
major decision victory over Josh Mollica to trim that deficit to
25-10. Chevres is now 16-4 on the year.
After giving up a major decision at 141 pounds, sophomore Ricky
Anderson earned the final points of the night recording a pin in 45
seconds at 149 pounds for the 29-16 final score. Anderson is
currently 6-1 on the year.
The Builders will next see action on December 28 at the Wilkes
Open. The next dual match will be on January 8-9 at the 30th
annual Virginia Duals.
