Junior Ricky Anderson was honored on Tuesday by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association as its Wrestler of the Week for the week ending November 20. He joins Marcus Chevres as winners by the USCAA.
Anderson, a Chesapeake, Va. native and outside machinist apprentice, went 6-0 on the weekend winning all three bouts in the Knight Brawl Duals and going 3-0 to win the 157-pound weight class at the Central Florida Open on November 20. His win in the final over Hunter Allen of Mercer University in 1:17 was the 52nd win by fall in his career to break the school record. Cecil Lee held the mark of 51 set in 2009.
The Builders will now compete on December 4 in the York College Spartan Invitational in York, Pa. That field will be one of the strongest of the season for the Builders as they'll see six teams that are ranked in the National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III Top 30 in the ten team field.
