A busy weekend heads into a busy week for Apprentice School athletics.
On February 12, four Apprentice School teams will be in action heading into a week where three of those will see action again.

The Builders open the 2011 season on Saturday at 1pm facing College of The Albemarle in a single 9-inning game at War Memorial Stadium. Apprentice School is coming off a 26-15 season and return five hitters who ended over a .300 batting average last year.
Next week the team will hosts its annual Builder Invitational as they'll tangle with NCAA Division II powers Bloomsburg University, Lock Haven University and Kutztown University along with the defending USCAA National Champions in Briarcliffe College. Apprentice School opens the event at 3 pm on February 17 against Bloomsburg.
The wrestling team hits the home mats on Saturday for a 2 pm dual with Washington & Lee University. Apprentice School is 16-8 on the year after winning a pair of dual matches in the USCAA Invitational on February 4.
Junior Ricky Anderson is one win away from becoming the fifth Builder to earn 40 wins in a season. The Chesapeake native is 39-5 with 32 wins by fall.
The men's basketball team comes home for a key USCAA matchup with in-state rival Southern Virginia University starting at 6 pm. Apprentice School enters 10-10, while Southern Virginia is 17-7 and winners of 13 of its last 14 games.
Both teams are highly ranked in the latest USCAA Coaches Poll that was released on Wednesday. Apprentice School remained fifth, while Southern Virginia is currently ranked number two in the poll. SVU won the first meeting 89-74 in Buena Vista, Va. on January 22.
The Lady Builders head to Takoma Park, Md. on Saturday to face NCAA Division II and USCAA member Washington Adventist University in a 6:30 pm tip.
These teams will face each other again on Monday night at Apprentice Gym starting at 6 pm. Apprentice School is 13-8 after falling 65-58 on February 5 to Southern Virginia.
