Wrestlers Take Home Four Titles In Virginia Beach Nationals

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. – The Apprentice School wrestling team competed in the open division of the first Virginia Beach Nationals held Saturday at the Virginia Beach Fieldhouse and came away with four individual champions.

Junior Ty Ford won the 125 pound bracket with a 3-0 record on the day, while senior Marcus Chevres took top honors at 133 pounds by also going 3-0 on the day.  Junior Kyle Spruill went 3-0 at 149 pounds to win that bracket, while freshman Ian Jones took the heavyweight bracket also winning three bouts.

Five wrestlers finished third in their brackets – freshman Ethan Fauls (141), freshman Sterling Briscoe (149), freshman Kyle Lowry (157), senior Ricky Anderson (165) and junior Kevin Gray (285).

The Builders open their season on October 30 when they travel to Lynchburg for a tri-match with Lynchburg College, Virginia Tech Club team and Liberty University.
