Chevres Named USCAA Wrestler Of The Week

Apprentice School senior Marcus Chevres was named the U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association Wrestler of the Week for the week ending February 12.

Chevres, an outside machinist apprentice from Norfolk, went 4-0 last weekend winning all three of his bouts by decision to win the 133 pound bracket at the USCAA Invitational held at State College, Pa.  He won all three bouts against opponents from Lindenwood-Belleville as the Builders edged the Lynx for the team title 169-167.

With his four wins last week, he passed current assistant coach Cecil Lee as the career wins leader for the Apprentice School with 125.  His record-breaking win was the championship match where he won 5-1 over Ethan Swingle.

The Builders now travel to Lexington, Va. to close out the regular-season on Saturday with a 1 pm dual match against Washington & Lee University.
