Six Student-Athletes Named To VaSID Academic All-State

The Virginia Sports Information Directors Academic All-State team was announced on Wednesday afternoon and six Apprentice School athletes were named to the list recognizing top academic and athletic accomplishments from the 2011-12 season.

To be listed on the team, a student-athlete had to have a minimum 3.25 grade point average and be at least a sophomore in eligibility.

A total of 162 student-athletes, representing 27 schools were recoginized.

Earning honors this year from the Apprentice School include:

Marlon Lane, Junior, Football, Maintenance Electrician, Severn, MD, 3.57

Chris Scarola, Junior, Baseball, Dimensional Control Technician, Williamsburg, VA., 3.73

Kevin Gray, Junior, Wrestling, Insulator, Pittsburgh, PA, 3.46

Christina Licano, Sophomore, Women's Basketball, Welder, Las Cruces, NM, 3.65
