The Apprentice School wrestling team returns to action this weekend after nearly a month-break in its schedule by participating tomorrow in the third annual Waynesburg Invitational at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse on the Waynesburg University campus.
This event will feature 11 teams including a pair of NCAA ranked schools in Olivet (MI – 7th in NCAA Division III) and West Liberty (PA – 12th in NCAA Division II) along with the Builders who are ranked ninth in the National Collegiate Wrestling Association. Other participating schools include: Elizabethtown, Johns Hopkins, Mercyhurst Northeast, Mt. St. Joseph, Muskingum, Penn State Greater Allegheny and Penn State New Kensington.
Individually a total of 24 wrestlers are ranked in the D3wrestle.com rankings, while West Liberty has a ranked wrestler at 174 pounds by Themat.com. Waynesburg is the two-time returning champion, while Mt. St. Joseph was second last year, Mercyhurst Northeast was fourth and the Builders were fifth.

The Builders will hit the mat again on January 11 in the annual Virginia Duals at the Hampton Coliseum. Pairings for that event will be announced early next week.
