A long-time high school coach on the Peninsula, Tracy Harrod is in his fifth season with the Builders serving as the Defensive Line coach.
He was the head coach for six seasons at Bruton High School in Williamsburg, VA where his teams competed in the Bay Rivers District. His 2009 team finished the year as Virginia Group AA Division III State Runner-up and always were in the hunt for district and regional honors. He was named the Bay Rivers District Coach of the Year in 2009 and Virginia Preps Division 3 Coach of the Year. He was also recognized by the Daily Press as an outstanding coach in 2009.
Harrod served 12 years as a coach at Denbigh High School where he was the Head Coach for six of those years. He was named as the Peninsula District Division Six Coach of the Year in 2004. Prior to his tenure at Denbigh, he was an assistant for Warwick High School and spent two years as an Assistant Coach for the Post-graduate Football program at Hargrave Military Academy.
Harrod is also an outstanding high school teacher. He currently teaches World History I and Government at Bruton High School in York County. He received Teacher of the Year honors at Bruton High School in 2017 and Denbigh High School in 2005.
A 1991 graduate of James Madison University, Harrod was a four-year letter winner on the football team. His team made the NCAA Division I-AA playoffs as a freshman and he was named the Outstanding Linebacker as a senior.
